living room by Stephen Miller Siegel
Architect and designer Stephen Miller Siegel designed the living and dining rooms at the 2008 Kips Bay Designer Showhouse. “I wanted the living room walls to be the color of limestone, and did them in Venetian plaster. But if I were trying to re-create the effect in paint, I’d use Farrow & Ball Buff because it has the warm, earthy color of stone. Do one coat and then water down the second so it looks more like a glaze. When you can see through the top layer, it gives you a sense of depth.” The ceiling is Decorator’s White INT RM and the trim is Dove White, both by Benjamin Moore. Photo from housebeautiful.com.
